WHO I AM
Hi, I'm Roberta, the soul and heart of Mama Dunia Travel.
My encounter with Tanzania was not just a journey. It was a reminder.
Between the majesty of the Serengeti and the white beaches of Zanzibar, I discovered not only extraordinary landscapes, but a different way of living: more authentic, more connected, more true. From that moment, I chose to transform that discovery into a project: accompanying other people to experience the same emotion.
The travel guide was also born from this experience “Tell me about Tanzania”, written with the idea of describing the country in a sincere and practical way, going beyond postcard images. A guide that helps you really understand where you are going, what to expect and how to experience Tanzania with respect and awareness.
After many years of working alongside Clement, with whom I share knowledge of the area and the management of our trips to Tanzania, we have decided to open a local headquarters in Arusha. A direct presence that allows us to follow the organization of trips even more closely and to be present in the area alongside our travellers.

THE ITINERARY
This journey unites two souls of Africa: the adventure in the savannah of Tanzania and relaxation on the paradisiacal beaches of Zanzibar.
We start by exploring the Serengeti and Ngorongoro parks, including exciting game drives at dawn and sunset and lodges immersed in nature. After the adrenaline of the savannah, you fly to Zanzibar to enjoy the crystal clear sea, white beaches, local villages and waters perfect for snorkeling and relaxation.
THE LOCAL GUIDES
During the trip, I will be present as a companion, to share every experience and accompany you step by step.
Excursions and trips will be entrusted to authorized local guides, professionals who know Zanzibar in its most authentic details and who will lead us to discover hidden and better-known but unmissable places.
THE GROUP
Our groups are made up of a few people, around 12-14 participants, in order to follow everyone as best as possible.
There will be many moments spent together, but also spaces for you: for a solitary walk on the beach, to read a book at sunset or simply to listen to the silence of the island. For me the group is a value, but not a constraint.
What do you need to come to Zanzibar?
- Passport with a residual validity of at least six months
- Compulsory health insurance
Are there mandatory vaccines?
There are no mandatory vaccinations for entry into Tanzania
Is there a common fund?
No, there is no common fund on our trips! Everyone can pay independently for meals not included and optional activities.
What age are our travellers?
In our group trips we do not indicate a minimum or maximum age of the participants. Traveling together with many different people we understood that it's not the age difference that counts, but the spirit!
We evaluate the registration of participants under 18 and over 65 on a case-by-case basis, based on the difficulty and pace of the itinerary.
Will I have all the useful information for the trip?
Absolutely yes! We will create a WhatsApp group dedicated only to the participants of that departure, so we can get to know each other better and give you all the practical advice to leave prepared and calm.
What is the departure airport?
On our trips the flight is separate, so you can freely choose the company and the airport that is most convenient for you.
Is it possible to travel alone?
Certainly! Leaving alone is an excellent opportunity to live the experience and meet new people.

Absolutely yes! You will be able to share a room and experience all the experiences of the trip together, from safari to relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar, with guaranteed comfort and privacy.
Is the trip suitable for those who have never traveled to Africa?
Mama Dunia Travel trips are designed to experience Africa in an authentic way, so it is important to have a bit of adaptability.
During the safari there will be early wake-ups for game drives, some distances to cover by jeep and transfers between parks. In Zanzibar the pace is different: travel can take time on local roads and even meals can require relaxed times because everything is done with patience, but it is all part of the charm of the island.
